Really tough day!
Well today started out well, the kids Ocupational Therapist was here, she even shared with us some happy news about her personal life. The Service Coordinator was also here today, she's a doll I always love it when she comes by. I left the kids with Avi for an hour to go to the eye Dr. which B'h went well, my script is almost the same as the last time I went to the Dr.... around 4years ago!! I'm having issues seeing out of my glasses which is probably b/c they are scratched up like CRAZY! anyway I wanted contacts but the Dr. thinks I wont be able to wear them b/c I'm nursing he says nursing Moms have issues with extream dryness in the eye. He gave me a trial pair to try for a couple weeks.
Well I got home and fed the kids and then realized I was in agony, turns out I may have Mastitis :( I started antibiotics (thanks to Mrs. Gordon runing to the pharmacy) I also took a long shower and B'h am feeling alot better already! But now Gavriel is refusing to go to sleep I'm so tired and still in a decent amount of pain :( Oh well life of a mommy I guess!
Gavriel ate 4T of cereal with a bit over 1oz of milk mixed in he did great and would have eaten more had it been on offer! Boy of boy does he love to eat. I got a picture of him eating but its on Avi's phone so I need to figure out how to put that on here. I will I'h try to get some pics up tomorrow but no promises its been insane!
Well I'm going to play Farmville a bit to try and calm down catch you all later.

FOOD
Well we did it we started Gavriel Simcha Gedalia on solids! He had 1tablespoon of oatmeal (with breastmilk) on Friday night and 2T on Sat night (G-d willing will have pictures of him eating soon!)
He LOVES the food! He just gobbled it down like he'd been eating for years! last night you could tell he really wanted more but I'm trying to take it slow for now, I will probably offer 3T tonight! On Shabbos morning (Sat. am) my brother was eating a bowl of cereal and apparently Gavriel was looking at him like hey thats for me can I have some?
And to top it all off, I guess the extra food made him feel good b/c HE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from aroudn 10:30 or 11pm till 6AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now if we could get Baila sleeping I might become sane again (yeah right I'll probably never get my sanity back but one can hope :)
What else?.. Baila Nechama Thank G-d is also doing alot better, her mouth must be feeling better she's amazing! did I mention she's bigger then him now? by about 1 oz! she's eating like crazy, nursing a million times better! Also she is so happy, I think she's going to start crawling soon! She's pushing up on her hands like crazy like she's doing a pushup and was trying to get atoy that was just out of reach yesterday it was so cute!
Also yesterday and this morning she started a new thing, I heared her grunting so I looked over and she was doing a Baila Push-up I gave her a simile and she grined back from ear to ear! I put my head down and picked it back up and again she smiled. Then she put her head down and picked it back up. SHE WAS PLAYING!!!!! She did the same thing to Avi when she woke from a nap yesterday. Its wonderful that she's waking up in a better mood!!!
Well speaking of waking up both kids are coming out of their naps sooooooo later :)

Better Night
Well last night was a bit better!!! BOTH kids were asleep by 11 Gavriel woke at 1:30am to feed but went back to sleep quickly and get this SLEPT TILL 7am!!!!! Baila woke about 4 times threw the night which was torture. I cant wait till they are both sleeping threw!
Baila's thrush is B'h (Thank G-d) getting better! I think we are going to use the new pediatrician, he said to swab the inside of her mouth in addition to giving her more nystaton. She's eating so much better! She always has had a very serious expression, she looks like she is deliberating quantum physics. Well now that the thrush is getting under control as well as her getting off the corn oil so she's pooping more regularly, she is like a different kid, Happy, smiling, even laughing! I was holding her yesterday in front of Gavriel and she looked at him and laughed she laughed!!!!!!!
Gavriel's been a Happy Camper for along time, he just wants someone to talk, smile and play with him all day. He coo's and laughs and interacts like crazy! He's recently started to really get coordinated also, he's starting to hold things well and is bringing EVERYTHING to his mouth! I'm going to start him on very soupy oatmeal (moistened with breast milk)I think he's going to LOVE it! Avi is hopefully going to pick some up today, though we need to also buy baby spoons :)
Here are a couple recent pictures of the twins:

Welcome
Ok so so many people want to see pictures and videos of the kids and also want to know how they are doing so I am starting a blog. Maybe this will be more productive then playing FarmVille all day (by the way if anyone wants to be a neighbor just facebook me :-D )
I'm going to try and write/post often but you know how it goes, good intentions and all.
For those who dont know I'm going to give a very brief overview: My twins Gavriel Simcha Gedalia and Baila Nechama were born very premature at 24weeks which is pretty much as younge as they come (a few kids survive at 22 and 23 weeks) We were on vacation in Virginia visiting my grandmother when they were born. We were in the NICU for about 4 months. Thank G-d not many complications but there were a few. It was a very scary period of time, Avi and I agreed not to share certain aspects of it so I apoligize but there are some things no one needs to know. However the kids were both on Osilators, ventilators, cpap, canula. both had PDA ligation at 3days old. PDA ligation is a heart surgery: from http://www.umm.edu/ency/article/002948.htm
"Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation
* Before birth, there is a natural blood vessel between the aorta (the main artery to the body) and the pulmonary artery (the main artery to the lungs) called the ductus arteriosus. This opening usually closes shortly after birth. A PDA occurs when this opening fails to close.
Another method is to make a small cut, or incision, on the left side of the chest. The surgeon reaches in and ties off the ductus arteriosus, or divides and cuts it. Tying off the ductus arteriosus is called ligation."
We had feeding issues, breathing issues all the "normal" preemie stuff.
I'd like to take a second and thank some people who saved my kids lives, All the Dr's and NICU nurses THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant even express my gratitude enough! a special thanks also to the wonderful secretaries every time I came in and out they were good for a smile, a joke a hug you all became such good friends I miss you so much! Also thanks to the wonderful community in VA who supported us while we were there and our AMAZING, STUPENDOUS, INCREDIBLE, community of Pittsburgh that supported us from GO and continues to do so daily!!!! I'm so blessed to live here!
Now the kids are 7 months old their "corrected age", how old they would be had they been born on time is 3months.
We have Developmental Therapist, Physical therapist and occupational therapist coming to our house each week. They are wonderful and the kids are B'h thriving.
