Twins and Sleep and the Power to Survive

Being a twin mommy is hard work! Yeah its rewarding but you have not one but two babies to take care of so if one has a bad night well then your cranky the next day taking care of the two of them but it both have a rough night you practically don’t sleep. Yes this has been my life now for the past 2 nights. My Daughter is extremely clingy all day and all night. She woke up pretty much every hour at about 3am I just took her into bed with me. But that did not work as well as I had hoped yeah she slept better but she slept on my head or kicking me in the back of the head, I woke up at one point and she was clawing my face. (yes I need to cut nails but that’s a different story for a different time) Now to top off her (and my) sleepless night her brother woke up about oh every 3hours or so! Though I think he did get one 5hr stretch at one point, details are now a bit fuzzy. I now understand how sleep deprivation is a form of torture! I mean if I was being interrogated and kept awake I’d probably admit to whatever they asked me to in order to just get some sleep! The thing is I was always the kind of person who needed at least 8hrs of good quality sleep. Yeah there were times when I’d stay up to late or not sleep for a night because there were things going on that I did not want to miss but then I had the luxury of sleeping in the next day or sleep for the whole weekend to catch up. But now I don’t have the ability to do that and I feel like I may fall apart! Here is the most amazing part though, I know I won’t! It truly amazes me that I can push way past what I view as my limit, I can dig down deep and pull on reserves that I did not know existed! It is incredible what a person is capable of if we would not (or when in a situation when you can’t) limit ourselves!

I know I can do this b/c G-d never asks of us more then we can handle and if we feel as though its to much we need to know that Hashem is giving us the tools we need to keep going we just have to open ourselves up to receiving it!

Park

We had a lovely day! This morning we had a Developmental follow up appointment for each of the kids, went well B'h. Then we got to go see the nurses at West Penn. Oh yeah the appt. was around the time they normally eat breakfast so I just packed the food and fed them there! did I mention that I went all by myself? YES its a big big thing for me! I'm pretty proud actually we did it and did it without to many tears (mine or the kids ;) ) It was fun actually! so anyway I did that then we came home and the kiddos naped and I had some Mac and Cheese for lunch. When they woke up we went with the Shkedies to the park, at the park there was this sprinkler/fountain the to play in. The twins had a blast (I did to!) both kids got soaked! Baila Nechama was crawling all around! she even put her self on top of a jet at one point! Then we played on the Swings to dry off a bit. Changed them and came home! Avi had to go trade the rental car for our van which is B'h now fixed (did I mention the AC went on our brand new van (uggh) anyhow so while he's out getting that I fed the kids and put chicken in the oven. Now I'm going to attempt baths and bedtime! Wish me luck!

Last post for now

we had a lovely picnic in the park yesterday: tuna pattie sandwiches yummy but not as yum as my twins. baila nechama was especially cute, she crawled to the edge of the blanket and touched the grass looked back at me as if to say is it ok? and then took off crawling on it! she also realized she could pick flowers and grass (and she thought they looked good enough to eat!) We also went on the swing and slide! I wan't to do somethign again tonight it was so lovely to get out as a family! I have no clue what to make for dinner though we are way to complicated. No white flour, no sugar, no potatos, no white rice, no cheese, no meat, no chicken, no fish not much eggs i think we are having air for dinner lol
